Lakeview Animal Hospital is in the center of the lake region of Portage, Michigan. We are a 4.5 full time equivalent DVM practice with three incredible licensed technicians and amazing non-licensed staff. We pride ourselves on building long term relationships with our patients and their owners, providing them with excellent state of the art care. We have great staff retention, a beautiful newly remodeled facility, and the equipment and expertise to help you become the veterinarian you dream of being. We have excellent relationships with several specialists in the region through phone consults and, when necessary, direct referrals allowing us to offer our patients the best care that can be provided. If you are an experienced veterinarian who wants to practice at a high level and continue to be challenged to improve, this is the place for you. If you are a new graduate who wants more from their career than routine care, there is over 90 years of high level experience with four veterinarians who enjoy the opportunity to mentor, teach and learn from you.
Our facility was remodeled 6 years ago and had an addition finished one year ago. With separate dog and cat wards, a recovery/ICU area, two wet tables, a spacious dedicated surgery room with natural light, six large, tastefully decorated exam rooms, and large working pharmacy and lab, our facility will not disappoint. We are fully equipped with Cornerstone software, Idexx lab suite including the Sedivue, new radiograph machine with Idexx CR digital radiology, and Aloka ultrasound machine that is constantly in use. We have Dentalaire digital dental software, two dental compressors and have all taken the Midmark dental course and routinely perform complicated oral surgery. We have three isoflurane anesthesia machines, three anesthesia monitors, though only one with end tidal CO2 and 6 IV fluid pumps. We routinely perform ACL surgeries, splenectomies, all forms of intestinal surgery, cystotomies as well as more routine surgeries.
The veterinary profession isn’t like any other—it’s the only field predicated on the love of a patient who can’t tell you what’s hurting and can only look to you for help. It takes a special kind of person to do that job, or the jobs supporting that job. NVA doesn’t create those special people—we find them, cultivate them, and give them resources and opportunities to do what only they can do. Whether treating patients, managing a pet resort, or serving hospitals from NVA’s Support Center, NVA’s animal professionals are caring people, united by a love of animals. NVA is proud to honor that connection and is committed to serving our team members by providing them with the tools, support, and freedom to be the professionals they’ve always wanted to be.
