Madison Veterinary Specialists (MVS) is seeking full and part time Certified Veterinary Technicians and recent graduate from an accredited Veterinary Technician program to join our growing team. We have open positions in our following departments:
Oncology Technicians: As the Oncology Certified/Licensed Technician primary responsibilities include providing veterinary medical nursing care, perform laboratory test and administering treatments under the direction of our board-certified veterinary Oncologist. Additional duties include acting as the primary liaison between the client, doctor and clinical staff, assist in surgical procedures, perform anesthesia, catheter placement, calculate drug dosages (including CRIs), process prescriptions, prepare treatment estimates and invoices. This service offers flexible scheduling Monday through Thursday with shifts between the hours of 7am through 6 pm.
Neurology Technicians: One of our busiest services, surgery days are never routine. Working with our board-certified neurologist, our certified technicians are able to fully utilize their training in all areas, from client communications and administering anesthesia to bandaging and pain management. The neurology technician team is supported by veterinary assistants and pack-&-prep assistants that help with patient care, invoicing and sterilizing packs. This service offers flexible scheduling Tuesday through Friday with shifts between the hours of 7am through 6 pm. This position will require some overtime and weekend on-call rotation.
Emergency Technicians: If expecting the unexpected is your strength, this is the service for you! This highly dynamic team works with our internship-trained emergency veterinarians to provide critical care when our patients need us most. You will fully utilize and grow your skills by learning RECOVER CPR and advanced procedures on this service while being supported by a team of veterinary assistants and kennel assistants. This service has 24 hour staffing 7 days a week so several shifts are available including day, swing and overnight. Overnight shifts qualify for differential pay.
Qualifications:
On-boarding & Training: Each new MVS team member completes a supportive training program during their initial 6 months with MVS and is assigned a mentor within their department to help acclimate, answer questions and generally assist with getting to know the larger team.
Madison Veterinary Specialists is a growing specialty referral and emergency hospital with specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology and Ophthalmology that work collaboratively with our emergency veterinarians to provide compassionate care for companion animals when they need us most.
