Midwest Bird & Exotic Animal Emergency Hospital, located in a suburb of Chicago, IL, is looking for an Emergency Veterinarian (DVM) to join our team. We are a full-service veterinary emergency and critical care facility that treats dogs, cats and exotic pets. Exotics are our exclusive specialty by day, but our after-hours emergency practice is open for dogs and cats too. In this role, you would be the Veterinarian responsible for our emergency hours from 7pm until 8am, three days a week. You would primarily be providing Emergency and Critical Care to our companion animals in addition to exotics. Emergency experience is required, but experience with exotics is not necessary and exotic animal mentorship is available, if needed.

Builds rapport with clients by gathering information and listening to, and empathizing with their concerns

Candidate must have the experience and confidence to handle a busy caseload while providing exceptional customer service and the highest level of medicine.
Our emergency department veterinarians are responsible for outpatient case care, emergency case triage, and monitoring hospitalized ER and specialty patients overnight. This position requires a candidate to possess and exhibit maturity and a high level of integrity.

Skills and Basic Qualifications:
Two or more years of experience is preferred
Knowledge and experience with exotic medicine is a plus.
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or related degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state in which applicant is to be employed.
Availability to work overnight, weekend and holiday emergency shifts within a rotating schedule.
