Who would be a good fit for us~
A knowledgeable individual who enjoys the quirky qualities of this profession. We are looking for a veterinarian who laughs at the overwhelming and stands up to the urgencies with calmness (or at least someone that tries to roll with the punches). A good bed side manner and willingness to learn would also be on the list of must haves. If you are a miserable, grumpy know it all -- please do not respond.
What makes our practice special is that our staff members are treated as individuals and not part of a big corporate plan, "everything needs to be exactly the same mentality". Our Doctors back each other when dealing with hard cases. The medical decisions at Bloomingrove Veterinary Hospital are based on both patient and client needs. We do not "push" , we offer: kind, best medicine, emphasizing kind- since not everyone can afford best . If you work for us you will have an exceptional technical, secretarial support management staff and an array of state of the art equipment, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultra sound, laser therapy, under water, treadmill, multiple in house lab machines etc.. Your notes are typed in for you. We are paperless, so those unnecessary reiteration calls on what needs to happen next are handled at the front desk, since the reception can see your plan- based on your notes reception will schedule an appointment with the boarded specialist or simply leaving a note to put up the next course of antibiotics you recommended. DVM's are paid for hours worked, for instance: that end of nigh phone call that took 45 minutes is compensated for. Difficult situations are not completely yours to handle our management team will help sort through misunderstandings and financial concerns of clients.
Vacation days, medical and simple IRA, license fees and continuing education are all part of your package. Your pets medicine is at cost and we offer competitive salaries. We are NOT commission based so no conscience verses bottom dollar decision stress. Continuing education is regarded highly, just come to us with what you would like to add to your repertoire and we will do our best to get you that additional training/learning experience, such as ultrasound courses, rehab certified or dental x ray course etc. We believe time off is important and quality of life outside of work is necessary. Basically, we get it!

I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, moved to D.C. then NYC. I believe the capitol district is the best of all those worlds. I can see beautiful mountains with in 25 minutes or head to Boston, NYC, Maine, Cape Cod Mass. in 1/2 days drive. Not to mention our local towns offer excellent food, best farmers market, concerts at the Egg in Albany, SPAC in Saratoga.
